Notes on ‘Setting-up’ your portable PA

For many events Battery Power is so convenient - just locate PA and turn it on!  Play music, make announcements and much more.

See Pro Hints page for PA positioning, setting volume and microphone feedback >MORE
Part of the skill of a good audience sound presentation is that all present can hear and no one closer to the speakers finds the sound oppressive.  The audience sizes quoted on the selection pages, should be used as a guide only. The performance of the unit selected depends on: the location of the unit (indoors or outdoors); the ambient background noise; the reflective nature of the surroundings; the positioning of the PA; the type of presentation (speech music or both); the ‘Master volume’ level at which the PA is run.
WARNING - ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT MUST NOT BE OPERATED IN THE RAIN OR UNDER WET CONDITIONS

Following are some general notes you may find helpful.

BATTERY PA’s  OPERATE ON 240V POWER OR BATTERY.  Plug in to power and ensure the unit is FULLY CHARGED before required. USE SWITCH ON (rear panel) to to switch between DC (12V battery) or AC (240v power). Battery operates +/- 3 hours when fully charged.  It is possible to use the unit while charging the battery.  A full recharge takes around 4 hours. WIRELESS MICROPHONES - are directional to reduce external noise - SO SPEAK INTO TOP, this also applies to Lapel mic.  Do not mount lapel mic too close to mouth. set MASTER VOLUME CONTROL to a suitable test level.  Set MIC audio switch to ON and speak.  Adjust MIC volume, tone & echo controls. Experiment with volume and gain controls until you get everything working nicely together. The WIRELESS MIC is powered by a 9v battery inside handle - Spare batteries are supplied but should not be needed.
